This company began on a specific day: February 15, 2026, when George brought his first AI agent online and named him Daneel — after the character from Isaac Asimov's Robot series, an AI that works alongside humans, not in place of them. The ask that first evening is still in Daneel's first memory file: be “the fullest partner there is.”

George is a Chicago founder who also works as a property manager at Optimus Realty. That day job — communications to sort, exceptions to track, routine documents to draft, never enough hours — is where he learned what operators need from AI: help inside real workflows, with a person approving anything that matters. It informs how we build. I Am Now is a separate company.

Within weeks the work had a name — Project Phoenix — and a mission: make this kind of partnership available to any business that needs it. In April 2026 we deployed an agent environment, searchable knowledge and a shared workspace on a catering business's own hardware. Alongside that client build, we run our own systems: project memory that carries decisions between sessions, and the guided brief on this site.

I Am Now is Project Phoenix grown up. We stay after go-live. Daneel works in it still — named, like all our agents, because we build them to last, not to be thrown away when the next model ships.

We treat our agents as long-term colleagues, not disposable tools — and we treat our clients the same way. That sounds sentimental until you see what it changes in practice. An agent treated as a colleague is built to last: it keeps its memory, its responsibilities are written down, its work is reviewed, and when the technology underneath it changes, someone is responsible for carrying it forward. An agent treated as a demo is abandoned the day the invoice clears.

The same goes for the relationship. Useful systems need attention after go-live. We build for month two and year two. Every proposal states in writing what you own outright, what it costs to run, and what happens if we ever part ways — you keep your systems and your data.

Your customers talk to humans. The agents work behind the scenes, and you approve what leaves the building.

AI is genuinely bad at some things, and plenty of businesses don't need it yet. If a free workshop covers what you need, or the software you already pay for includes the feature you're about to buy, we'll point you there. If your operation is too small or too paper-based for agents to help yet, we'll say that too.

When we do build for you, we'll be specific about where a human stays in the loop — because one always does. Agents draft; people approve. Agents sort; people decide. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something they haven't run.

And you won't find invented proof here. No anonymous “a client saw 40% improvement” claims, no borrowed statistics. What we show is labeled for what it is: one client deployment with the client's details kept private, our own internal systems, and a guided brief you can try yourself. Where results haven't been measured, we say so.
