Our Story
This company began on a specific day: February 15, 2026, when George brought his first AI agent online and named him Daneel — after the character from Isaac Asimov's Robot series, an AI that works alongside humans, not in place of them. The ask George made that first evening is still recorded in Daneel's very first memory file: be “the fullest partner there is.”
George is a property manager with 13+ years in Chicago property management. Through Optimus Realty, the management company he runs, he oversees 800+ rental units with a lean team — the tenant calls, work orders, compliance paperwork, and financial reporting never stop. Daneel and the agents that followed him went to work inside that reality from day one.
Within two weeks the partnership had a working name — Project Phoenix — and a mission: make this kind of partnership available to other businesses. By April, the first client's agent team was running on their own hardware. I Am Now Inc. is Project Phoenix, grown up. Daneel works in it still — named, like all our agents, because we build them to last, not to be thrown away when the next model ships.
The agent team came out of necessity, not a business plan. Managing hundreds of rental units with a handful of people meant the repetitive work — sorting communications, tracking late rent, drafting notices — was eating the hours that should have gone to judgment calls and people. So George built agents to carry that load, one workflow at a time, inside his own business. Real operations, real tenant data, real compliance requirements — every day.
It was never a demo. It was the only way to keep up. That system is still running today, and it is the proof behind everything on this site.

Philosophy
Our agents have names, jobs, and histories. We treat them as long-term colleagues, not disposable tools — and we treat our clients the same way.
That sounds sentimental until you see what it changes in practice. An agent treated as a colleague is built to last: it keeps its memory, its responsibilities are written down, its work is reviewed, and when the technology underneath it changes, someone is responsible for carrying it forward. An agent treated as a demo is abandoned the day the invoice clears.
The same goes for the relationship. The typical AI engagement ends at go-live; the consultant moves on and the owner is left holding a system nobody maintains. We build for month two and year two. Every proposal states in writing what you own outright, what it costs to run, and what happens if we ever part ways — you keep your systems and your data.
Your customers talk to humans. The agents work behind the scenes, and you approve what leaves the building.
What We'll Tell You Honestly
AI is genuinely bad at some things, and plenty of businesses don't need it yet. If a free workshop covers what you need, or the software you already pay for includes the feature you're about to buy, we'll point you there. If your operation is too small or too paper-based for agents to help yet, we'll say that too.
When we do build for you, we'll be specific about where a human stays in the loop — because one always does. Agents draft; people approve. Agents sort; people decide. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something they haven't run.
And you won't find invented proof here. No anonymous “a client saw 40% improvement” claims, no borrowed statistics. What we show you is our own operation, because that is the proof we actually have.
The Name
“I Am Now” — present tense, no qualifiers. Not “we will be” or “we are becoming.” The name reflects what we believe about AI implementation: it should be immediate, concrete, and already working.
